Hervey Library

Named after Bishop Frederick Hervey who was the Anglican Bishop Of Derry in the latter part of the 18th Century, our Hervey Library has been decorated in an opulent style featuring original architectural details. Bishop Hervey was responsible for the construction of beautiful buildings at Downhill and Mussenden Temple and was well known for his love of art and detailed building design.

Located on the second floor adjacent to the main ballroom, the “Hervey Library” offers a variety of set up options to suit event requirements.

Seating up to 14 guests in our luxurious wingback chairs or 20 guests in a theatre-style setting. For corporate events, our Hervey Library is ideally suited for use as a networking space or refreshment break area.

The Hervey Library is home to our Afternoon Tea service - served daily from Midday - 4 pm (subject to availability, advanced reservation is required)

Our library has been sensitively and tastefully restored to highlight the unique Edwardian character and charm of the original room.
